iPhone XR non decolla: Apple riduce la produzione e crolla il titolo in borsa

Le aspettative in merito all’iPhone XR erano davvero altissime prima che venisse effettivamente lanciato sul mercato ma, stando ad un nuovo rapporto, sembra che Apple abbia richiesto a Foxconn e Pegatron di ridurre il ritmo produttivo a causa di una domanda inferiore e di conseguenza il titolo in borsa crolla.

Foxconn al momento ha attive soltanto 45 linee di assemblaggio rispetto alle 60 disponibili e questo si traduce in una produzione di circa 100.000 iPhone XR in meno, ogni giorno.

Il periodo festivo è alle porte ed è anche il trimestre in cui si registrano le vendite più alte. Se Apple ha ridotto gli ordini proprio adesso significa che gli iPhone XR non stanno andando poi così tanto bene. Ming-Chi Kuo ha affermato che i preordini sono stati maggiori rispetto a quelli di iPhone 8 ed 8 Plus ma che successivamente le vendite sono rallentate.

L’iPhone XR però, ha un futuro lungo di fronte a sè perchè il telefono resterà invariato per qualche anno e molto probabilmente con il tempo la persone si accorgeranno di quanto è valido e lo acquisteranno. Il suo “boom” di vendite quindi, potrebbe arrivare in un momento successivo, quando le esperienze ed i feedback degli acquirenti si saranno diffusi tra amici e parenti.

Anche Luca Maestri di Apple ha spiegato: essendo un modello nuovo e senza precedenti eravamo incerti sull’andamento e non abbiamo equilibrato in maniera adeguata la domanda e l’offerta. In aggiunta le vendite di XS stanno andando meglio del previsto ed abbiamo registrato record di vendite nell’ultimo trimestre.
