Il nuovo standard di ricarica wireless Qi2 si basa sulla tecnologia MagSafe di Apple

Il Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) ha annunciato che la tecnologia di ricarica Qi di nuova generazione incorporerà la funzionalità di ricarica magnetica MagSafe di Apple.

Qi2 è un nuovo standard di ricarica wireless unificato basato sulla tecnologia di ricarica ‌MagSafe‌ fornita da Apple.

Qi2 incorpora un profilo di potenza magnetica, il che significa che i dispositivi che adotteranno Qi2 in futuro utilizzeranno la stessa tecnologia magnetica ‌del MagSafe‌ disponibile negli accessori ‌MagSafe‌ creati per iPhone 12 e versioni successive.

Il WPC afferma che il Magnetic Power Profile in Qi2 assicurerà che gli smartphone e altri prodotti alimentati a batteria siano perfettamente allineati con i caricabatterie per una migliore efficienza energetica e una ricarica più rapida.

Per alcuni dispositivi sarà disponibile una ricarica più rapida e lo standard aggiornato “aprirà la strada a significativi aumenti delle velocità di ricarica wireless”.

Lo standard Qi2 debutterà entro la fine dell’anno e sostituirà l’attuale standard Qi. Gli smartphone ed i caricabatterie Qi2 dovrebbero essere disponibili a partire dalle festività natalizie del 2023.
