Snapchat lancia una nuova funzionalità in stile TikTok

Secondo un nuovo rapporto di TheVerge, Snapchat aggiungerà presto il supporto per le funzionalità musicali in stile TikTok.

Il social implementerà queste funzionalità per tutti gli utenti di lingua inglese entro questo autunno, mentre è disponibile a partire da oggi per gli utenti in Nuova Zelanda e Australia.

Secondo il rapporto, questa funzione consentirà agli utenti di registrare video su brani popolari, il tutto direttamente dall’app Snapchat stessa. Non ci sarà una pagina infinita di contenuti “For You“, né supporto per la visualizzazione di tutti i video che utilizzano un brano specifico. Queste sono due caratteristiche chiave di TikTok, ma Snapchat si sta concentrando maggiormente sulla creatività individuale e personalizzata da condividere con gli amici

Parlando con The Verge, un portavoce di Snapchat ha tentato di minimizzare la concorrenza di TikTok, sottolineando invece che questa funzione è progettata per condividere la musica con “veri amici”, non con i follower pubblici come su TikTok.

In un’e-mail che illustra in dettaglio la nuova funzionalità, la società ha affermato che, “sulla base di dati disponibili pubblicamente“, la sua app “raggiunge più persone negli Stati Uniti di Twitter e TikTok messi insieme“.

La funzione verrà lanciata con “un catalogo di musica robusto e curato” di Warner Music Group, Universal Music Publishing Group, Merlin e altri. Secondo quanto riferito, Snap voleva introdurre la funzione già nel Maggio 2019, nello stesso periodo in cui TikTok ha trasformato “Old Town Road” in un successo.
